RetroChallenge Winter Warmup 2010 - Macintosh BBS

Proposal:

Make sure network connection is working on Macintosh. Install BBS software of some kind, feel free to suggest choices (include reasoning if possible). Leave running for a month. Optional: Find & Add Games and then invite retrochallenge participants over to play.

Machine:

Macintosh LCII

OS: System 7.5.3
Hard Drive: 80MB
Memory: 12MB (10MB usable)
Network: Asante MacConi LC (MCiLC-10T)
Extended Specs: Click Picture

This is going to be difficult, if even possible... Unfortunately my Hitachi M-100Ds floppy drive isn't booting anymore so I can't do anything with that computer. I wish that my Performa 6100/66 DOS was not PPC, so I could use it for this. It would be much easier.

Results:

The final result is... failure. :( The OS is now 7.5.3 and the network card is recognized. However I do not have a serial cable or patience. The network cards needs a 10Mbps only hub/switch which I do not have. So, this project is henceforth laid aside. It will be revisited when I have obtained the necessary hardware or made some kind of breakthrough. Farewell to the other contestants for the time being. 1-22-10
